David Dorsey, Jackie Martin, David Howard, and Michael Coovert Publish New Book Chapter on Cybersecurity

Congratulations to David Dorsey (alum), Jackie Martin, David Howard, and Michael Coovert for the publication of their new book chapter, "Cybersecurity Issues in Selection!" Workplace cybersecurity is such an important topic these days, and we're proud that USF scholars are helping pioneer its research and practice.

Their book chapter was published in the Handbook of Employee Selection (2nd ed.), which is edited by James L. Farr and Nancy T. Tippins. You can learn more about the book here on its publisher's website. It's also available on Amazon

Tammy Allen, Tyler Henderson, and Victor Mancini's Paper Accepted at HRMR

Congratulations to Tammy Allen, Tyler Henderson, and Victor Mancini (and their coauthors) for their new publication in HRMR, "Mindfulness-based training interventions for employees: A qualitative review of the literature." Great work!

It's a fantastic day to be an I-O Bull! The US News & World Report just released their latest rankings of the best I-O psychology graduate programs in the country , and USF was ranked #2! We are grateful to be recognized along with the other excellent I-O programs on this list.

Rachel Seulki Jang's Paper Accepted at JCCP

Congratulations to Rachel Seulki Jang, whose article "Measurement Invariance of the Satisfaction with Life Across 26 Countries" was just accepted for publication in the Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology! Well done, Rachel!

Kim French and Tammy Allen Receive 2016 Editor Commendation Award

Congratulations to Kim French and Tammy Allen, whose paper "Parent Work Conditions and Adolescent Core Self-Evaluations: Examining the Effects of Work Resource Drain and Parent Gender" was selected to receive a 2016 Editor Commendation from the Journal of Business and Psychology! The Editor Commendation is awarded annually to a select few articles published in JBP that make a particularly significant contribution. Well-done, Kim and Tammy!

Spring 2017 Brown Bag Schedule Announced

The brown bag schedule for the Spring 2017 has just been released! "Brown bags" are hour-long presentations on topics of interest to the field of I-O psychology. They usually involve presenting original research, but they also may have a learning- or practitioner- focus.

 

Unless noted otherwise, brown bag presentations occur on Fridays from 3-4 PM in PCD 1134 (in the Psychology and Communication Sciences & Disorders Building on the USF-Tampa campus). Brown bags are open to the public and we encourage anyone interested to attend!

Dr. Brenton Wiernik to Join I-O Faculty

We are excited to announce that Dr. Brenton Wiernik has accepted our offer to join the USF I-O faculty! Dr. Wiernik received his Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 2016. His research "focuses on understanding individuals’ career choices, behaviors, and success, with an emphasis on the impact of stable individual differences, such as vocational interests, personality traits, cognitive abilities, and work values, on work outcomes." He will complete his post-doctoral fellowship at Gent University (Belgium) and join us in the Spring 2018 semester.
